Lin Chen is a collateral-line descendant of the Lin family in Qingfeng City, in the Qingyun Minor Realm. Born with a defective spiritual root, he is branded a cultivation good-for-nothing. Yet he is steadfast and deeply loyal. By chance, he obtains the mysterious Primordial Pearl, his golden finger. It contains primordial energy that can repair spiritual roots, analyze cultivation techniques, and connect to nodes across the myriad heavens.
Relying on the Primordial Pearl, he absorbs the unique energies and inheritances of different realms during his adventures across the myriad heavens, making up for his weaknesses and fusing countless arts to forge a path of his own: the Primordial Dao.
