A chance collision brought Lu Zhiyan and Song Niannian together in a curious twist of fate.
Song Niannian was clutching painkillers for her best friend and hurrying around a corner when she ran straight into a solid chest. A white envelope fell to the ground, and photographs scattered everywhere. One of them rolled to a stop beside the man's gleaming leather shoe.
“Sorry, I'll pick them up right away.” Song Niannian crouched down and hurriedly gathered the pills.
After picking up the last pill by the man's shoe, Song Niannian stood up. Before she could make out the man beside her, he grabbed her and pulled her into a room.
The fear in Song Niannian's eyes left her feeling utterly helpless. She wanted to call for help, but the man's large hand covered her mouth so tightly that she could only make the faintest sound.
“It's over, it's over. Am I going to die here today?”
