One bowl shatters, and the world turns upside down. One life ends, and a bond of love begins.
Wanqing was once a lowly servant whose job was to wash bowls. She died in humiliation, but at the brink of death, she glimpsed a sliver of hope: she possessed the body of a dying dog demon. From then on, the road through the netherworld gained a bewildered, confused “stupid dog,” carrying a blood feud and an unyielding obsession in her heart.
Mo Chen, a proud and aloof night patrolman, was responsible for surveying the netherworld and hated all trouble. Yet he ran into one “trouble” he couldn't shake: a dog demon with clear eyes and extraordinary determination, always trying to tell him her grievances in dog language.
One was mocking, the other irritable; one sharp-tongued, the other stubborn.
In the eerie, dangerous realm of the netherworld, the two are forced into a journey that's both hilarious and heart-pounding. They go from despising one another to relying on each other for life and death; from an aloof night patrolman to a protector willing to burn through his very bloodline; from a timid little dog demon to a steadfast young woman awakening to the soul of a leader...
Yet a greater conspiracy lurks, its gaping maw quietly swallowing countless souls.
The mastermind is none other than the netherworld's powerful ruler, her old nemesis! When the truth behind the deaths of her loved ones comes to light, and the person she loves most is near death protecting her, what will Wanqing choose?
Will she accept the fate of having her soul scattered, or tear apart this rotten world with her claws?
Will they journey to the Yellow Springs together, or defy fate and fight for a future where they reunite in the human world and watch the sunset side by side?
This is a fantastical tale of the netherworld, beginning with a shattered bowl and ending in deep love.
This is an ultimate redemption story of love and protection, sacrifice and growth, and two people who light each other up in despair and burn the darkness away.
