Ye Xiao belongs to the mysterious organization known as the Purging Office, which claims to be a “guardian of order.” During a mission, he realizes that his target is not nearly as evil as the organization claims. In fact, the target holds a secret that could bring down the Purging Office and even the higher powers above it. Hesitation and a single mistake turn Ye Xiao into a target for his own organization.
To survive and uncover the truth, Ye Xiao joins forces with investigative journalist Su Yao while evading the colleagues who once worked alongside him. Together, they struggle to follow the clues through the city’s darkest corners and layers of deception, discovering that the Purging Office conceals forbidden experiments tied to an ancient organization, along with a mad conspiracy to control life and death and reshape the world order.
