Melodies of a Troubled Age: Reborn

In her previous life, Lan Zhuang was an ordinary farm girl, naive and trusting. She was betrayed by those she trusted, the man she loved, and her own family, and ultimately lost both her family and her home amid the chaos of war. Reborn with her memories of the past, she resolved to take revenge and change her fate. But in a feudal society torn apart by war, women had little status, and strict clan rules imposed one restriction after another. The emotional wounds of her previous life also made it hard for her to trust anyone, leaving her struggling to find allies.

Now enemy forces are closing in and the city stands on the brink of ruin. Lan Zhuang must rally forces to defend it before time runs out, while also facing a new round of attacks from her former enemies, who have noticed that she has changed. On the path to revenge, she must make agonizing choices between self-interest and conviction: should she seek swift vengeance by any means necessary, or hold fast to her principles? If she fails, she will lose those she treasures once again and repeat the tragedy of her past life. But even if she succeeds, the loved ones she lost before cannot be brought back, leaving only bitterness behind her victory. Can Lan Zhuang overcome these trials and play her own song of triumph on the qin amid the chaos of war? The answer remains unknown...
