Story Synopsis
Amid the flames of war and chaos, a cool, striking female spy is ordered to go undercover beside a ruthless warlord and relay intelligence through secret messages. Though outwardly calm and calculating, she gradually discovers the warlord’s hidden tenderness through their repeated life-and-death encounters. As the truth slowly comes to light, the two become trapped in a scheme within a scheme, all in the name of love, and face a difficult choice between duty to their country and their own feelings. A heartrending romance unfolds against the turbulent backdrop of Republican-era China.
