Civilization is the lights on the river bank.
The "factory" discharges spiritual "filth" into the river day and night. When filth combines with the cracks in the human heart, terrifying monsters called "turbidity" will breed - they are the residue of rules and the scars of reality.
We are the "scavengers"
Wandering between lights and undercurrents, cleaning up silt, hunting monsters, and keeping the "river" clean.
