Two Thieving Rivals

Princess Zhao Jing of Yong’an has a secret: the lover from the martial world she secretly meets over the palace walls every night is none other than the notorious river pirate “Shadowless,” a thief who has long plagued the court.

He steals silver from corrupt officials, and she secretly slips him maps. They work together seamlessly, neither knowing the other’s identity.

Until one night, he fails to show up and leaves behind half a bloodstained jade pendant.

The next day, at a grand banquet in the imperial palace, the Embroidered Uniform Guard presents a badly wounded thief and claims their reward. “Your Majesty, Shadowless has been captured!”

Zhao Jing crushes her wine cup and jumps to her feet, only to see the prisoner look up at her with a lazy smile.

“Princess, we’ve worked together this long. How about we rob the execution ground and both come out ahead?”
