Wang Lang (? - 228 Years), whose courtesy name was Jingxing, was a native of Tan County, Donghai County (now Tancheng, Shandong Province). He was an important minister of Cao Wei and a master of Confucian classics from the late Han Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms period. In his early years, he studied under Taiwei Yang Ci and served as the governor of Kuaiji. After resisting Sun Ce's defeat, he joined Cao Cao. He served as an official for three generations, including Cao Cao, Cao Pi and Cao Rui. He was promoted to Situ and was granted the title of Marquis of Lanling, ranking among the three Dukes. He was knowledgeable and annotated classics such as "Book of Changes", "Book of Filial Piety" and "Spring and Autumn Annals". His "Biography of Zhouyi" created the "Wang Xue" system and was listed as an official textbook. He advocated lenient sentences, reduced taxes, and peace with the people, and spoke out many times to advise the political leaders. He dedicated his life to the protection of classics and the inheritance of classics. He presided over the rescue of Cai Yong's works and promoted the academic integration between the north and the south. He had a profound influence on the development of classics in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. He can be called the cultural guardian and ideological bridge from the Han to the Wei.
