A strange celestial sign appeared at my birth. I came into the world covered in blue scales, and the villagers saw me as an ill-omened demon child. A blind fortune-teller dropped dead on the spot!

Everyone was certain I wouldn't live to see my third birthday!

But they didn't know that the black carp in the river gave its blood to keep me alive, that the black tortoise crawled to my door to claim my soul, or that countless aquatic creatures regarded me as their one and only young master! Those who bullied me drowned under bizarre circumstances; those who insulted me were hunted down by water ghosts!

When the death curse of my ninth year arrived, a hundred ghosts surrounded my home. As my life hung by a thread, a mysterious old man who called himself the Ferryman of Wangchuan descended from the sky. With a single bamboo pole, he made every ghost submit.

He took me far away for ten years and taught me supreme arts that could command life and death and weave destinies.

Ten years later, I returned, having mastered his teachings! The world only knows me as a poor student, but they don't know that my words become law, that a single thought can sever an evil fate, and a single glance can decide life or death!

They once called me a demon child. Now they kneel and beg for my protection.

So what if I'm a god? So what if I'm a demon? I, Chen Yuan, am the one and only taboo in this mortal world!
