A strange catastrophe codenamed "Rainbow Virus" struck the world. Before humans could figure out what the virus was, the world turned into a pot of porridge with chili powder. Rabbits grew to be stronger than elephants and chased cars to eat tires. A shake of Coke could blow up three floors and became the hard currency of the apocalypse. Even the square dancing lady downstairs in the community had evolved a "sonic attack" and could drive away mutated creatures by singing "Love Deal" off-key.
And our protagonist, Lindsay Witt, was cursing at the "King Simulator" game in a rental house the day before (complaining that the game's "noble lords must have airs" setting was too rigid), the next second he was struck by lightning and entered the apocalypse, with a glowing "King System" in his hand, and the title of "The Downtrodden Noble King" floating above his head. The system did not give him any serious buffs. Instead, he had to do an "outrageous thing" every day to unlock the territory permissions: today he had to ride a mutant goose across the poisonous river, tomorrow he had to hold a "beauty contest" for mutant cockroaches, and the day after tomorrow he even had to teach zombies square dancing - otherwise the territory would randomly "drop buffs", such as the city walls suddenly turning into marshmallows, or the soldiers' weapons being replaced by toy water guns.
