"The Legend of Tea Sage Lu Yu" takes the ups and downs of Lu Yu's life as the "Tea Sage" of the Tang Dynasty as the context, and unfolds a historical picture spanning from the prosperous Tang Dynasty to the mid-Tang Dynasty. Lu Yu, who was born as an abandoned baby, was adopted by Zen Master Zhiji of Longgai Temple. However, he fled the temple because he was unwilling to accept the ancient Buddha of Qingdeng and worked in a theater troupe. By chance, he met Bole and started his studies. He also formed a lifelong friendship with Cui Guofu, who was demoted from an official position, and studied tea ceremony together.
