The male lead transmigrates into a political power-struggle novel and becomes a haughty, tyrannical legitimate son of a marquis who shares his name and is destined to be cannon fodder early in the story. The original owner is good for nothing but his looks and family background. The male lead discovers that this world has a genuine supernatural side: feng shui, auspicious and inauspicious fortunes, and physiognomy can truly affect a person's fate, even their life or death. As it happens, he is the heir to a reclusive family of modern-day occultists, and after he transmigrates into the book, his abilities grow even stronger.
· Main plot: Using his occult skills, he keeps up the appearance of a wastrel who only knows how to eat, drink, and have fun, while secretly stirring up trouble in the court and the martial world by adjusting feng shui, reading faces, and telling fortunes. He gets others to do his dirty work, engineers the downfall of the various villains who want to harm him and his family, and gradually swallows up their power. He turns the tables on the wicked to build his own resources, with the ultimate goal of possibly overthrowing a major villain or claiming the summit for himself. His motto: “I’m no good person, so you can’t guilt-trip me with morality.”
· Occult elements: Feng shui arrangements to change one’s luck, reading faces to judge character, simple formations, and minor talisman techniques.
A clever, unscrupulous protagonist causes a stir in an alternate-history setting using unconventional methods and a little occult know-how.
The author should be a loyal fan of Tomb Raider Notes. The first part is very good. The second part feels like he is writing about the past life of the Queen Mother of the West. The author has his own ideas and the ideas are good.
