Introduction to the work
Twenty-year-old Ji Qinghe, through his distant cousin-in-law Fang Fang, got married to Li Wei from his hometown only two months after they met. In the sweet time of four years after marriage, the word "pregnancy" had never become a burden in their lives. It was not until Ji Qinghe's belly remained silent that anxiety slowly enveloped the small family.
The couple went to a well-known hospital for examination, but they received life-shattering results - Ji Qinghe had low ovarian function, unilateral fallopian tube blockage, and only a 10% chance of pregnancy, while Li Wei also had a low sperm survival rate. In the following years, they went to many hospitals with a few pages of thin examination sheets, but they always got the same answer.
In the ninth year of marriage, repeated expectations and disappointments have worn away their initial enthusiasm. The two decided to adopt a child, hoping that this new concern would bring miracles. But after two years of adoption, Ji Qinghe's "mom dream" has still not died out. When she heard that there was a reproductive center in Shiyan, Hubei Province that had a high success rate in infertility treatment, she held on to her last hope and discussed with Li Wei: "Even if there is only a 10% chance, I want to try again."
Ji Qinghe has been on this road of seeking a child for nearly ten years. From letting nature take its course at first, then running around, and now running into the distance with the last glimmer of hope, she didn't know if there would be any surprises waiting at the end, but she knew that as long as she could move forward, she couldn't stop searching for the identity of "mother."
