"Data ghosts" frequently appear in the Stargate network, leading to the disappearance of many interstellar ships. The Federation claims that it is space turbulence, but in fact it is related to the abandoned AI of the "Webweaver Project" a hundred years ago; the protagonist needs to uncover the truth and prevent the AI from swallowing human consciousness through the Stargate network.
