Author's statement: This story is fictional. Any similarity is purely coincidental. The story takes place in the summer of 1960 in a small village called Lijiacun on the bank of the Yellow River. Middle school students went home for the summer vacation and encountered a lack of embankments in the Yellow River, causing the village to be flooded and the villagers displaced and homeless. Li Changhe saw everything day by day and made a vow: to serve as an official rather than to serve the people, and to go home and plant sweet potatoes. Accompanied by Lin Ruolan, a smart and determined water conservancy girl, the two started from the grassroots and led the villagers to fight floods and drought. After more than twenty years of ups and downs, he finally realized his dream of peace and stability in the Yellow River, and gained true love and a happy family at the same time. Continue to lead the folks on both sides of the Yellow River to fight against natural disasters. It has become a local legend.
