“This monk has severed all worldly ties, yet the moment I see Your Highness, my heart is thrown into chaos.”
Proud, radiant young prince × cool, austere Buddhist monk
Chu Yan is the youngest son of the emperor, who dotes on him above all others. Beautiful beyond compare, he is also willful and arrogant, the little tyrant of the capital whom no one dares provoke.
During an autumn hunt, he happens upon a monk caught in a trap, badly wounded yet still serene and otherworldly, and rescues him.
The monk, Liaowu, is the most celebrated Buddhist prodigy at the Temple of State Protection. His mastery of Buddhist teachings is profound, but his exceptional gifts have made his fellow disciples jealous. They plotted against him, nearly costing him his life.
On a whim, Chu Yan takes him back to his own residence and “looks after” him in every way.
He tempts him to break his vows, disrupts his meditation, and sends him fine clothes and wine, laughing as he asks, “Monk, you’re so handsome. Why bother renouncing the world?”
Liaowu keeps his eyes lowered and rolls his prayer beads. “Amitabha. Your Highness, please conduct yourself with dignity.”
Then, one day at a palace banquet, someone plots to humiliate Chu Yan.
The ever-silent Liaowu suddenly rises before everyone and, to defend Chu Yan, willingly breaks the strict precepts he has kept for years, stunning the whole gathering.
He shields the astonished young prince behind him. His voice remains calm, but carries a chill unlike anything before:
“Your Highness is the one I must protect.”
“If any of you insult him again, you make an enemy of me.”
Watching his tense profile, Chu Yan suddenly thinks that perhaps this monk’s heart has been thrown into chaos.
Then why is his own heart beating so strangely fast?
[Reader’s Guide]
Both leads are each other’s only partners, happy ending, sweet romance with no angst.
Cool, restrained top comes down from his pedestal for love × gorgeous, willful bottom completely wrapped around his finger.
Their chemistry is off the charts, with intense push and pull and an exceptionally long period of romantic tension.
I like getting along with Chu Yan. I love the words "I am a Buddha but you are the only ones".
The writing is so good and the story is unique. Why no rating! Although I don't fully understand, for example, how could a Buddhist disciple dare to say that he was an enemy of the imperial power in front of the emperor? But it doesn't affect my appreciation of the author's writing style and wonderful stories.
Tell him - I know your preferences; I will not change my habits. But I am willing to accept your traces; I am willing to accept your thoughts.
It's good to read, super good to read. After listening to this book, I'm going to search for other articles 👍 👍 👍
Good looking and well written. Come on.
Resign yourself to death and take another gamble. If you lose, accept your fate and let yourself give up. If you win, it will be a grand slam. 👍 There are regrets in life, should we keep regrets in the past or in the future?
There is God's will in the dark
Good 👌 looks good, I like it 💕
The emotions are delicate and the pictures are unrealistic?
The story is novel, I hope the two protagonists don't develop too fast.
