One hairpin snaps, and pear blossoms are stained with blood; one jade pendant rings, and a soul returns after a thousand years.
Possessed by an evil spirit, Bai Ci accidentally kills his beloved, Ye Linger. She shields him with her soul, leaving him just one promise: “I’ll wait for you.” A thousand years later, Bai Ci, a spirit guide carrying a glass lamp filled with tears of longing, meets Ni Leer before a mirror in an old building. The jade pendant at her throat burns hot. As a Republican-era rouge spirit and the secrets behind a broken hairpin come to light, this wait across the boundary of life and death must finally end in redemption.
