The Way Home: Our Double Lives

There are two kinds of time in this world: the time he is home, and the time he is away.

This is a heartfelt family saga dedicated to all those who protect others in silence. It tells the moving story of love, waiting, understanding, and redemption between special forces officer Zhou Tingxiao and his wife, Su Wan.

He is the blade of the nation, a cold codename in mission files, the “Dragon Fang” whose very name strikes fear into his enemies. Precise, ruthless, and unbreakable, his world is one of gunfire and sand, silent orders, and responsibilities that must never fail.

He is her husband, a man who wakes from nightmares in the middle of the night, clumsily learns to make soup, and carefully strokes the baby in her belly with his calloused hands. His return is always accompanied by a silent ritual of “switching over.” His soul must travel thousands of miles before he can truly leave the horrors of the battlefield behind and return to the warmth of home.

Su Wan is his most reliable “home front.” She has learned to live alone, face every hardship by herself, and piece together his world from his silence, scars, and sleep-talking. Her love is a warm light left on for him late at night, a pot of soup kept warm, and the strength and resilience behind a seemingly delicate heart. She protects their home, and the vulnerable corner deep inside him that no one else knows about.
