Period: Sent Down to the Grasslands, I Build a Ranch in My Spatial World, Ride Horses, and Tame Eagles

[Mountain Foraging, Countryside, Period Setting, Space, Russian Women, Family Life, Famine Years]

Zhou Weidong is reborn in 1971, just as his biased mother is preparing to draw lots to decide who will be sent to the countryside.

They all have the same mother, but the eldest is the heir and the third son is her precious baby. Only Zhou Weidong, the second son, is unwanted.

His mother has always played favorites. She sneaks food and drink to the eldest and youngest, while Zhou Weidong goes hungry and has to do all kinds of farm work to help the family.

Now that he has finally qualified for a factory job, his mother insists the whole family draw lots. Whoever stays in the city gets an assigned job, while the unlucky one is sent to the countryside as an educated youth.

But there are three slips of paper, and every single one says “countryside.”

In my previous life, you forced me into the countryside and leeched off me for most of my life. Reborn, I’m going to clear out the house and cut ties with the family before heading to the countryside.

With a hundred-acre spatial farm, I’ll take everything in the house, even my relatives’ tables and chairs.

The eldest brother and third brother want to stay in the city?

I’ll sign them up for the countryside!

My cousins accuse me?

I’ll sign them up for the countryside!

My vicious relatives come looking for trouble?

I’ll report every last one of them and get them all sent down to the countryside!

After putting his rotten relatives in their place, Zhou Weidong cuts ties with his family and heads to Ordos, to a construction corps where Russians gather.

While the other educated youths farm and do hard labor, Zhou Weidong draws on his knowledge from his previous life to work as a technician, veterinarian, and herdsman.

He juggles several jobs, choosing the easiest work while earning the most work points. Meanwhile, he hatches cattle and sheep in his spatial pasture, farms the land, and tends the herds. In just a few months, the space is full of cattle and sheep, with corn and soybeans growing everywhere.

Sometimes he even takes his Type 56 semi-automatic rifle and goes hunting in the mountains with Russian girls, and he catches a golden eagle as a pet!
