Long ago, there existed a civilization in the universe that revered “melody and harmony”: Planet Ling. The people of Planet Ling forged the essence of their civilization and their hopes for peace throughout the universe into a divine set of “Myriad Wind Chimes.”

But the forces of cosmic darkness, the “Sound-Devouring Beasts of Silent Night,” invaded Planet Ling to devour all sound and emotion. At the final moment, the planet's greatest guardian poured their life and the last glimmer of hope from their world into the master chime, the “Bell of Revelation,” and sent it flying into the depths of space.

A thousand years later, the Bell of Revelation fell onto the bell tower of an ancient Taoist temple in western Longguo on Earth. It merged with the temple bell and slumbered there. In the modern era, a young civil engineer named Jin Ze was helping restore the ancient bell when he was unexpectedly attacked by the cosmic monster Noise Source Beast. At the critical moment, Zhong Yan's sincere desire to protect the bell resonated with the Bell of Revelation. As its light shone, he transformed into a Giant of Light and drove the monster away. Thus, Toll Ultraman awoke in the modern era, and Zhong Yan became his human host.

But this is Longguo! How am I supposed to balance being a human host with being an Ultraman?

Toll's mission is to protect all the beautiful “sounds” in the world: emotion, civilization, and hope, and to oppose the forces of darkness that seek to devour sound and spread silence.
