Code Name Jingzhe

In 1941, during Shanghai's “isolated island” period, four factions are locked in a fierce hidden struggle. Li Jingjue, an employee at HSBC, appears to handle Japanese military supply accounts, but is actually the leader of the Chinese Communist Party's “Jingzhe” cell. Using finance as his shield and codes as his weapon, he passes along intelligence. Zhao Ling, chief of the “76” translation and communications office and a secret agent for the Military Statistics Bureau, struggles between her beliefs and her survival.

When the Japanese military's “Sakura Transport” arms plan comes to light, the two cross paths unexpectedly while deciphering a code. They must join forces to stand against the sinister Kenichi Takahashi, a senior officer in the Japanese military police, dispel the suspicions of the Military Statistics Bureau's hardliners, and enlist the help of Qian Mozhi, an undercover agent inside “76,” to set up defenses along the railway.

From covert tests of trust in the French Concession to a fight to the death at the Wuxi railway bridge, every step is fraught with danger. Old Zhou's sacrifice, their cover being blown, and the power struggles among multiple factions bind individual fates tightly to the survival of the nation. This is not just an intelligence battle to stop an arms shipment, but a passionate journey in which a group of revolutionaries hold fast to their beliefs in the darkness and search for the light.
