The Fourth Calamity: Raising Skeletons in a Game

Chen Xuan is reborn as a skeleton soldier in the undead realm, a world that is only partially digitized. In his previous life, he was a game designer. Now he has become the weakest skeleton around. Players have transmigrated into this world, but they are skeletons too, with laughably low combat power. By chance, he gains a golden finger that lets him summon Earth’s players under the guise of a simulation game. The System allows him to alter rules and control mechanics, reshaping the world as if editing a map. The useless skeleton in everyone else’s eyes trains these recruits to fight monsters and level up. The natives mock this group of “monsters,” until they build bases, score loot, and coordinate their tactics. While nobles and theocracy reign supreme, he unleashes the Fourth Cataclysm with his rookie players. Yan Ruyue berates him for his reckless antics, yet his outrageous schemes leave her hopping mad and helpless to stop him. As the world’s rules tremble in response to the players’ evolution, the true ruler quietly emerges. Once a failure discarded by capital, he now intends to overthrow theocracy and rewrite civilization. The players are both pawns and kindling. In the end, they will burn the old order to ashes and ascend to the divine throne.
