"Asynchrony" is based on the secret war from the Anti-Japanese War to the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It depicts the special cooperation between Ma Lan, an underground party member of the Chinese Communist Party, and Chen Qing, a code-breaking expert, which spanned ten years. Malan, code-named "Nightingale", used his extraordinary wisdom and multiple identities to deal with the enemy camp, while Chen Qing, an undercover agent code-named "Asynchronous", used secret rooms and radio waves as his companions to face the complex enemy situation in Jincheng Lanzhou.
