Sincerity Behind a Professional Smile

After my ex’s older brother forced himself on me, did I end up with my true love?

Lu Xingci is both strikingly handsome and immensely talented. After facing bullying and exploitation in the Korean entertainment industry, he returns home, only to sign with his ex-boyfriend’s company and star in a BL drama!

His ex’s older brother, Gu Chengxiao, holds evidence that could ruin him and threatens, “Come here.”

“If you have something to say, say it here. I’m covered in sweat and dust...” He is then forcibly thrown into a bathtub.

“Dirty? Then you’d better wash yourself clean for me.”

At his lowest point, Lu Xingci meets his true love at a casting audition and clings to this lifeline, starting a secret relationship. In public, he and his costar play up their chemistry; in private, they sneak around together. All the while, he has to answer Gu Chengxiao’s summons at a moment’s notice, until he’s on the verge of breaking down!

When their relationship is exposed, Gu Chengxiao arranges for Lu Xingci to be disgraced in front of his lover. Enraged, Lu Xingci grabs a knife and stabs at him, but the man only laughs in amusement. “So you’ve learned to fight back? You’re more interesting than you were when you acted all meek and fragile.”

A long imprisonment begins. Gu Chengxiao is an illegitimate son who clawed his way to power over a bed of blades. He is obsessively determined to keep Lu Xingci by his side, yet behind his coercion lies a clumsy tenderness and an absolute determination to protect him.

“As long as I’m here, I won’t let anyone bully you.”

“Then you can’t bully me either.”

Lu Xingci is baffled. “Do I have Stockholm syndrome?”

But their twisted bond has already wound too tightly. Could a relationship built on threats and coercion really have turned into a love they both chose?

And, to his surprise, it even brings the truth behind a murder from years ago to light...
