Tang Wei, an ordinary modern-day office worker, is unexpectedly bound to a mysterious entity called the Merit System and forced to embark on an endless journey to transmigrate. Her mission is to travel into the worlds of classic TV dramas and films, become a tragic supporting female character, or another important female character, and earn “merit points” by changing her predestined tragic ending, making up for regrets, and doing good deeds. However, the System tells her from the start that she needs an astronomical number of merit points to defy fate completely and escape the threat of erasure. Even more absurdly, she has to “borrow” merit points, working as she goes just to pay off her debt. Her transmigration journey has no end.
