On her first day at work, Lin Xiaoman nearly gets fired because her boss suspects she stewed his precious corgi, Wangcai.
It’s her own fault for slacking off to make chicken soup in the break room and joking to the short-legged, big-bottomed corgi, “Keep acting up and you’ll end up in the pot!”
She thinks her career has barely begun and is already over, but Wangcai falls in love with her at first sight and refuses to let go of her leg. Even his aloof, restrained owner, Lu Jingchen, CEO of Tengda Group, starts seeing her in a new light.
“Starting today, you have one more duty: take care of Wangcai.”
“I’ll add two thousand to your monthly salary. Interested?”
Lin Xiaoman looks at Wangcai wagging his tail and begging for cuddles, then at the payslip marked “Pet Care Allowance,” and nods without hesitation. “I’m in! Don’t worry, boss. I’ll love Wangcai like he’s my own son!”
Soon, the whole company sees the new intern taking the CEO’s dog out at the same time every day, brushing his fur, and even bringing him to “sit in” on meetings.
Lu Jingchen: “Lin Xiaoman, Wangcai chewed up my contract.”
Lin Xiaoman: “Don’t be mad, boss. Maybe he just wanted to add some ‘paw-print seals’ to it.”
Lu Jingchen: “Lin Xiaoman, Wangcai seems to eat only the food you bring.”
Lin Xiaoman, pulling out the same dog food she gives her own yellow dog: “Maybe it’s a case of ‘a dog meeting a fellow countryman’?”
Later, the employees notice that their usually poker-faced CEO has started looking at the intern in a very different way…
