This story follows Xin Qiji, who was born in Jinan Prefecture under Jin rule. Raised by his grandfather, Xin Zan, he grew up in the Jin-controlled territories to become a hero of the resistance against the Yuan, accomplished in both letters and arms. He led from the front and fought in countless battles, devoting his entire life to restoring the lands of the Han. When he was denied a place to serve, he traded his sword for a brush and pioneered the bold and unrestrained style of poetry, becoming a heroic poet admired by later generations.
