In Shanghai in 1937, female doctor Su Man was rescuing the wounded in the hospital and met the Kuomintang officer Lu Zheng. Lu Zheng was ordered to protect the hospital, while Suman took the risk to treat the anti-Japanese comrades. The two supported each other during the war. Lu Zheng helped Suman avoid being traced by the Japanese army. Suman also saved Lu Zheng's life, and finally joined the fight against Japan and confirmed their intentions.
