I Ran into My Ex at a Job Interview? The Brooding CEO Blushed Red

[A reserved, sharp-tongued CEO and his sharp-tongued secretary] The male lead becomes the other man for love, then grovels to win her back

What do you do when you run into your ex at a job interview?

Three years ago, Lin Wei was dumped without warning.

Three years later, she ran into her ex at a job interview. He was the interviewer, and he found fault with everything she did.

Lin Wei had no hope of getting the job, but then she received an offer.

He was the CEO, and she had applied to be an assistant manager. Hoping for the best, Lin Wei joined the company.

Only to discover it had all been a setup.

Her ex had become her direct boss and made things difficult for her at every turn.

"I’m not close to her."

"That’s all you can do? Xingchen doesn’t keep dead weight."

Later, when someone set her up, she asked him for help.

He gave her a cold look. "I don’t do anything without a name for our relationship."

Then he turned away and asked his friend helplessly, "How do I get her boyfriend to cheat on her?"

His friend laughed at him. "You’re the other man. Do you really think you’re the wife?"

In a bar lit by shifting lights, she drunkenly tipped the male models. He was so furious he crushed a champagne flute.

He hoisted her over his shoulder, carried her into a private room, and pinned her against the wall for a kiss.

"You wanted a male model? Pick me. I’m free."

Lin Wei said, "You get what you pay for."

He took her hand and pressed it to his abs. "Why don’t you inspect the merchandise first..."
