Lin Weixia, from Class 3, Grade 2, is considered by her teacher to be an "honest person among average students" - her grades are in the middle of the pack and her personality is as soft as a marshmallow. The only thing "extraordinary" is the sketchbook hidden in her school bag. The same figure is drawn on every page: Jiang Xubai, who is number one in the school, the focus of the basketball court, and always surrounded by the crowd.
She thought that this secret love would be like a formula on a draft paper, which would be rubbed out once it was full. Until an accident, she helped Jiang Xubai pick up the fallen competition notes, only to find that there was a painting in the notes - the painting was of the way the sun fell on the tips of her hair when she lowered her head to take notes.
From then on, the "unreachable" Jiang Xubai began to appear frequently in her world: the extra hot milk in the drawer during morning study sessions was bought by him from three buildings; the error-prone points marked with red pen on the math paper were compiled by him at the expense of his lunch break; even when she was being teased by her classmates, he, who had always been cool, would stand up and say in a calm but firm tone: "She is my friend."
Lin Weixia gradually discovered that Jiang Xubai's "coldness" was just a protective color. He would remember that she didn't like to eat coriander, and would stand silently behind her without disturbing her while she was sketching. When she was anxious about her grades, he would hand over her wrong question book: "Don't be afraid, I will take you to make progress together."
At the campus art festival, in Lin Weixia's painting exhibition, the painting called "Light" was exposed - in the painting, Jiang Xubai was wearing a white shirt, looking back and smiling on the basketball court. Next to the frame, Jiang Xubai came over with a sunflower, the tips of his ears red: "Lin Weixia, my light has been looking at me."
