"Underworld" tells the story of a tragedy that grew out of despair and was eventually swallowed up by darkness. The protagonist Wang Yuqin, who has been tortured by violence since childhood, tries to seek relief by controlling greater violence, gradually climbs to the pinnacle of power in the underground world, and indulges in the illusion of wealth and luxury. However, when he finally touched the seemingly supreme power, he was shocked to realize that he was just a pathetic pawn in a larger chess game. All the struggles and cruelties failed to obtain true dignity and peace. Instead, he completely lost the qualification to touch warmth and love.
This book uses cold writing to reveal the endless pain, emptiness and inevitable destruction under the extravagant appearance of the gang world. It is by no means a promotion of violence, but a warning mirror that reflects the end of a wrong road. It strives to tell every reader: Violence only breeds violence, and there is no winner in a desperate situation. Only by rejecting darkness and choosing light can we protect the true inner peace and strength.
