The Woman of the Mysterious Sect

Daoist arts are at the heart of the story. Six-Yao divination and Plum Blossom Numerology are used to predict good and ill fortune and trace cause and effect; the Four Pillars of Destiny are used to read and change one’s fate and assess feng shui; talismans and Qimen Dunjia are used to drive out evil, set defenses, and trap enemies. Daoist medicine combines herbs with vital energy to heal. Character divination reveals people’s hearts and portents, while choosing auspicious dates determines the success or failure of major events, such as activating magic arrays or holding family ceremonies.
