The People’s Procuratorate: State Prosecution

This is a work of realist fiction about the procuratorate, with the public prosecution department as its central setting. Through a series of representative cases adapted from real events, it delves into the human struggles, legal dilemmas, and pursuit of justice found in the practice of law in China. Eschewing the traditional “chosen-one aura” of legal fiction, it portrays procurators’ daily work, inner conflicts, and professional ideals in a realistic style. Rooted in real life, it presents the difficult choices legal workers must make between emotion and the law, and between crime and punishment.
