All I Need Is a Future With You

The CEO Slipped a Diamond Ring into My Backpack in College

I was a senior when she had just started college. She was like a lost deer, stumbling straight into my heart.

I secretly supported her for four years, and finally she came to intern at my company.

Then I heard her joking with a coworker: “That benefactor who never shows his face?”

“Who knows? Maybe he’s some creepy old man.”

That night, I cornered her in the empty office after everyone had left.

“Creepy? Old man?” I pinched her chin and made her look at me. “Take a good look. I’m only four years ahead of you, your senior from college.”

She stared at my face, suddenly shocked. “Wait... you’re the one from back then...”

I cut her off with a cold laugh. “That’s right. The fool who tucked a diamond ring into your textbook.”
