My soul transmigrates into the world of Journey to the West, where I become Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, trapped beneath Five-Finger Mountain.
As Guanyin Bodhisattva enlightens me, I also obtain the Disruption System.
My mission is to disrupt the pilgrimage to the West. Completing tasks will grant me the qualifications of a Sage, allowing me to replace the Jade Emperor and rule over countless immortals and gods.
That's far more impressive than becoming the Victorious Fighting Buddha.
It also fulfills what the Monkey King said when he wreaked havoc in Heaven: "The Jade Emperor's throne changes hands in turn. Next year, it'll be my family's turn."
Tang Sanzang is only mortal flesh and blood, and lives every day alongside tigers. His good disciple Sun Wukong, right by his side, has actually wanted to put an end to the journey west all along.
Who would have thought that every one of the eighty-one tribulations was Sun Wukong's doing?
At a fork in the road, Sun Wukong pointed to the path on the right.
"Master, Guanyin Monastery is just ahead."
Tang Sanzang held the map of the pilgrimage route that Guanyin Bodhisattva had given him. It clearly marked the locations of the demons and monsters they would encounter along the way.
"The map says there's a Black Bear Spirit over there. It's too dangerous. We'd better avoid it."
Sun Wukong leaped right in front of Tang Sanzang, baring his long fangs with a ferocious expression.
Tang Sanzang recoiled two steps in fright.
He swallowed and said nervously, "The road west is long. We should avoid danger whenever possible if we want to obtain the scriptures safely."
Sun Wukong ignored him completely, grabbed him by the collar, and dragged him toward the path leading to Guanyin Monastery.
Since Guanyin used magic to stop Old Sun from laying a hand on you, I'll just hand you over to the monsters!
If this one can't kill you, I'll try the next. I refuse to believe I can't get rid of you...
In the end, Sun Wukong finally became a Sage as he had wished, entered the Hall of Miraculous Mist, and sat on the Jade Emperor's throne, commanding the Three Realms...
But why has that old Buddha Tathagata come to discuss the Buddhist pilgrimage plan with me?
It looks quite interesting, but the only flaw is the system. It requires killing Tang Monk to destroy the Journey to the West to become a saint, but it doesn't give anything in the middle. I don't know why I feel that this system is made by some saints or quasi-sages who don't want the journey to the West to succeed to deceive the protagonist. Killing Tang Monk will achieve the goal, but it will not make Sun Wukong a saint. It's a white wolf with nothing.
This book is so beautiful. Nine-nine-nine-eighty-one, every one of them was done by a monkey.
