During the melee between warlords in western Hunan during the Republic of China, female student Lin Wanqing was involved in a shooting case and made an agreement with Fu Yunshen, an anti-warlord who pretended to be a playboy. The two went from a fake marriage to falling in love, to being separated due to the death of their father, and finally reunited on the battlefield. Their love was tempered in the flames of war and righteousness.
