The Ten Most Tragic Emperors in History: All Dynasties Are Shaken

“I expanded the imperial examinations and dug canals, hoping to lay the foundations for an empire that would last ten thousand generations... How did I end up dead, my country destroyed, and my name cursed for all eternity?!” (Emperor Yang of Sui: 10th place)

“Art at its zenith, then the Humiliation of Jingkang... Was this fate playing a cruel joke, or was I... truly in the wrong?” (Emperor Huizong of Song: 9th place)

“The Xiongnu are not yet defeated, and my Crown Prince has died in a pool of blood... If I had been a little more lenient, would I have been spared a lonely old age and a shaky throne?” (Emperor Wu of Han: 8th place)

All the beings of the myriad worlds are in an uproar. Emperors and ministers of every age are furious, horrified, or filled with regret, all waiting anxiously. Who will be next?! Will I make the list?!

Right after it, the System reveals a new timeline in which regrets have been set right:

If the Crown Prince had lived, if the golden age had continued, if the northern expedition had succeeded... Another possibility, one that should have vanished into the dust of history, now blossoms in all its glory!

From this point on, the history of the myriad worlds surges down a completely different course...

And this is only the beginning.

[The list lays bare emperors’ regrets, makes up for what fate left unresolved, and shakes the hearts of all through the ages!]
