The Era After Journey to the West: gods, demons, and light fantasy. After Sun Wukong obtained the scriptures, he was bestowed the title Victorious Fighting Buddha. But the Jade Emperor still wanted to limit his power, so he led troops to Spirit Mountain in the Western Heaven and demanded that Wukong hand over his golden cudgel. Wukong refused, and the Jade Emperor joined forces with Buddha Tathagata to split him into six pieces and seal them away. The golden cudgel also vanished without a trace.
Five hundred years later, a young man awoke from chaos, and the golden cudgel reappeared in the world. Guided by Patriarch Bodhi, the young man set out with the cudgel to break the seals and bring Sun Wukong back to life.
