Taking the Jingkang Disgrace in the late Northern Song Dynasty as the background, it tells the story of scholar Lin Fu who witnessed the disaster of Hua Shi Gang and gradually grew from a passionate righteous man in a corner of the south of the Yangtze River to an anti-gold leader who supported the crisis.
When the prosperous Bianjing is in danger of collapse, and when the iron hoof of the Jin Army tramples the tranquility of the Central Plains, Lin Fu joins hands with the loyal and brave veteran Zhong Shishi, the courtesan Li Shishi who understands righteousness, and the wise and courageous naval commander Liang Hongyu to rise up in the storm. They defended the city with blood at the head of Bianjing City, fought fiercely to defeat the enemy on the banks of the Yellow River, or reorganized defenses in the Jiangnan water towns, fighting against foreign aggression with their flesh and blood, and maintaining their home and country with their wisdom and strategies.
The undercurrent of the court, the life-and-death struggle on the battlefield, and the children's feelings about their family and country are intertwined.
