Meng Wenyan of the Spiderweb

The story takes place in Linchuan, a modern metropolis. Song Wanning has never given up investigating the mysterious disappearance of her mother, Ji Qiuyao, many years ago. After getting caught up in a string of bizarre cases by chance, she meets homicide detective Lin Ruolan, psychiatrist Jiang Siqi, entrepreneur Li Yuanqing, and independent detective Shen Yusheng. Several storylines intertwine: the case of Ji Qiuyao’s disappearance, a series of murders, corporate secrets, and unusual patients receiving psychological treatment. Each involves complex social relationships and struggles of human nature. As they solve cases, each character gradually questions their established beliefs and seeks redemption in the face of adversity. Each volume focuses on a related case and theme, slowly bringing the mysteries to light. In the tenth volume, all the storylines converge, the truth emerges, and the characters complete their own journeys of growth and transformation.
