When you open your eyes again, you find that you have logged into the global hit game Apocalypse a hundred years early, in the frontier version, “Warring States: Chaos.”
From the start, you take the weakest class, Stargazer, and are sent to an enemy state as a hostage. You use the opportunity to cling to the future empress’s coattails and cheat your way through the battlefield:
“Seven Kills” lays waste to cities, “Heavenly Wolf” leaves a thousand miles in ruin. You fight your way through six states and become the mastermind behind Qin!
When the version updates to “A Hundred Schools of Thought Contend,” you change class to a Yin-Yang Master, steal the authority of immortals and gods, and stir up the seas as a sea god. In secret, you found a school of thought and lay plans for a hundred years.
Then come versions like “Old Gods Awaken” and “Ancient Starry Road.” When players finally arrive, they discover you already seated on the imperial throne, commanding the stars.
They fall to their knees and cry, “Boss, teach me how to play!”
You smile. “We’re both players, so I won’t begrudge you calling me boss. But beneath this boundless starry sky, you look upon this emperor without bowing. What crime do you think you’ve committed?”
