Su Qingyuan, a graduate student in the Department of Modern History, accidentally traveled through the Yin Dynasty and became the third lady of the Jingan Hou Mansion who was left out because of a substitute marriage. Relying on her modern knowledge and (albeit biased) understanding of history, she managed every step of the way in the backyard of her deep house, but unexpectedly got entangled with Xie Jingxing, the powerful, cold and suspicious chief minister. From testing each other and tit-for-tat, the two gradually fell in love amidst court disputes and family conspiracies, and finally worked together to solve the mystery and gain love and stability.
