Wen Qian and Chi Yan grew up together, and she always thought of him as her best friend. After six years apart, they meet again, only to unexpectedly sleep together.
Using pressure from his family to get married as an excuse, Chi Yan asks Wen Qian to marry him. She agrees.
To help them work together better, Chi Yan draws up a special plan.
Chi Yan: “We should use more intimate terms of address.”
Wen Qian: “Like what?”
Chi Yan: “Call me hubby.”
…
Chi Yan: “We don't seem sincere enough.”
Wen Qian: “What should we do?”
Chi Yan: “Go on a date once a week.”
…
Chi Yan: “We need more physical contact.”
Wen Qian: “How?”
Chi Yan: “Kiss, cuddle, and lift you up high.”
…
As time goes by, Wen Qian realizes this isn't an act at all. He's clearly been plotting this for a long time.
Wen Qian asks him, “Do you like me?”
Chi Yan: “You only just figured that out? I've liked you for a long time.”
Wen Qian had always thought her feelings for Chi Yan were just friendship, never imagining they would one day change completely.
Wen Qian: “Good, because I like you too.”
