Flame's Edge

Themes: The struggle between good and evil; protecting truth and conscience; opposing the use of technology (Stardust) for warfare and human experimentation; and emphasizing that "Stardust is both a key and a lock": it can bring hope, but also disaster, and must be guided by conscience.

Emotional core: The protagonist's longing for his mother and determination to seek revenge; the trust and solidarity between allies as they fight side by side (Tieshan and Dao's loyalty, and Old Zhou's research support); the villains' greed and eventual repentance (such as the transformation of "Shadow" Uncle Zhang and Ling); and the protection of the innocent (such as the children at the groundbreaking ceremony and the test subjects persecuted by the "Furnace").
