Defend Jinling and Start a Fortress

In 1908, young military officer Zhu Qingan traveled to the late Qing Dynasty and served as a regiment leader in the Sixth Town of Beiyang. Although he was only a mid-level officer, he relied on tactical concepts that transcended the times to work intensively within his limited powers and responsibilities: improving equipment, training elites, and quietly laying out his own military prototype within the logistics system. In 1911, the Wuchang Uprising broke out and the situation changed dramatically. Zhu Qing'an seized the historical opportunity and led his elite troops to victory in a key battle. He emerged with a beautiful tactical assault and became a rapidly rising and powerful general in the revolutionary camp. After the founding of the Republic of China, he was reused for his military exploits and outstanding army-building ideas, and was able to independently create and command a brand-new demonstration unit. He advocated "military industry to save the country" and carried out drastic military reforms: unified introduction of German equipment, establishment of a modern staff system, establishment of an officer academy, and efforts to develop heavy industry and national defense technology. Knowing that there would be a war between China and Japan, Zhu Qing'an devoted his whole life to creating an iron-blooded army with equipment and tactical ideas that were ahead of the times. When the flames of the Anti-Japanese War broke out in 1937, the powerful steel force under his command had transformed into the Great Steel Wall that frightened the invaders, vowing to completely rewrite the destiny of the nation.
