Scheming Against the Jade Emperor? I'll Just Disband the Heavenly Court

Zhang Haotian wakes up as the Jade Emperor in Journey to the West.

At first, he’s full of ambition, eager to rule the Three Realms, make his mark, and be remembered for all time.

But the System never comes. His grand plans turn to a fleeting dream, and the Heavenly Court remains exactly as it was, unchanged.

As Jade Emperor, Zhang Haotian continues to muddle through, nothing but a puppet emperor and a tool of the Saints.

Still, he has his pride and his limits. With the Journey to the West drawing near, the Buddhist sect comes to discuss the script, expecting him to cower under a table when Sun Wukong wreaks havoc in Heaven.

Zhang Haotian refuses point-blank. How could the dignified Jade Emperor be frightened by a monkey? The whole idea is absurd!

So, to force Zhang Haotian to agree, the Buddhist sect carefully plots against him, using his daughter, the Seventh Princess Zi’er, as a pawn. They send her down to the mortal world, where she falls for Dong Yong and breaks the laws of Heaven.

In the Hall of Miraculous Heavens, the Buddhist sect joins forces with the Chan sect to pressure him.

Zhang Haotian is caught between a rock and a hard place. On one side is his daughter; on the other, his dignity and reputation. Which should he choose?

After thinking it over, Zhang Haotian suddenly sees the light!

Fine, fine, you all want to force my hand, do you?

In that case, I’m throwing in the towel. I quit!

I’ll disband the Heavenly Court and flip the table. Let’s see how you’re going to stage the Journey to the West now!
