The story takes place in the "Mirror City", a provincial-level city located on the southern coast. With the rapid modernization of the city, various unsolved suspense criminal cases have become commonplace, putting the police and public opinion in a dilemma. Because their respective pasts were unable to integrate with the normal social system, the five protagonists were invited to form a private reasoning investigation team - the "Mirror Investigation Team". They carry out investigations into various major cases such as murders, disappearances, finance, and dark sides of society. While confronting criminals, they uncover each other's ulterior secrets. Each volume focuses on a major case and multiple clues to the character's growth. The cases are connected in a series, and finally the deepest fog of the city and people's hearts is lifted.
