The surest way to get something is to make yourself worthy of it. That idea was the inspiration behind this book. While writing it, I was deep in the pain of a breakup, and kept asking myself one question: Why would two people who once loved each other and promised to stay together forever so easily turn away and choose someone else? So I poured those genuine feelings and experiences into the story, hoping to convey the thought that “a love from our youth doesn’t always get a happy ending.” The story follows the growth of the protagonist, An Nuo. It depicts her tumultuous relationship with her first love, from falling in love to growing at odds, and also tells how, after entering the working world and focusing on her career, she eventually meets a soulmate whose heart and eyes hold only her, finding both personal growth and fulfillment in love.
