"Lü Zong Dharma Lineage" is an epic of spreading Taoism that spans thousands of years. The story begins in faraway India, where the Venerable Tan Wude gathered the Vinaya and set sail across the Western Regions. Tan Ke Jialuo spread it to China in the early days of the Three Kingdoms. After the budding years of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, Master Daoxuan established the sect in Zhongnan Mountain and promoted it. During this period, there was also the coexistence of the Fa Li Xiangbu sect and the contention of the Huaisu Dongta sect, which jointly painted a picture of the prosperity of the legal system. The novel follows Jianzhen's tragic wish to travel eastward, and travels through the ups and downs of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and finally in modern times, Master Hongyi rekindled the dharma lantern.
